Ironmen are made of Steel - a testament to the First Ever Full-Distance IRONMAN Race in the Philippines
So many interesting stories at Century Tuna IRONMAN Philippines at Subic today.
"No fuss, just wrap me up and I'm good to go!"
Gerry Gosen from Singapore, a Zone 1 swimmer on 45-49 age category, fell off his bike on KM110 when a cyclist bumped him on the back. He had to ride the remaining 70kms with a possible shoulder or collarbone fracture. He couldn’t put weight on his arm. On T2, he asked the medics to bandage his arm just to lessen movement & the pain so he can run the 42kms and finish his race.
He finished the race last Sunday in 171st place out of 1,084 Overall - clocking in at 12:41:06. Now that is a man made of steel!
